Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY, is an inclusive experience with fine dining, entertainment and activities in a wooded preserve with thousands of acres and 85 miles of trails. An attitude of “Slowly & Quietly” mindfulness is encouraged. Dozens of uniquely crafted gazebos and benches in scenic spots prompt passersby to stop and take in the view, sounds and aroma of the moment. Canoes, boats and paddleboards are included to enjoy the lake. The Bathing Beach is in a cliff-sheltered cove that seems a million miles from anywhere, but is actually only a short walk from the Mountain House.
