A fun cruise on a small ship with American Cruise Lines starting and ending in Seattle. Ports were Anacortes, Friday Harbor, Port Angeles, Victoria BC, Port Townsend, Bremerton, Poulsbo. All the ports were charming small towns in Washington state except for Victoria, in British Columbia, Canada. In each port we participated in a tour excursion and had time to spend in town on our own.
At the first port in Anacortes, we went on a jet boat tour through Deception Pass under the famous bridge seeing seal families and beautiful scenery. Next, we took a trolley tour around San Juan Island when we were in Friday Harbor. Highlights were feeding Alpacas and visiting Lime Kiln lighthouse. After a cruise across the Strait of Juan de Fuca, we arrived in Port Angeles with a tour of the Crescent Lake Lodge area in Olympic National Park. While in port the next day, we took the international ferry over to Victoria, BC to tour The Butchart Gardens, which was a visual adventure. In Port Townsend, we enjoyed the Victorian architecture that has been preserved on many of the local buildings. Loved the range of unique shops on Water Street there. In Poulsbo, their Norwegian heritage comes through strong in their history, shops and restaurants. A walking tour included many local stories from the old days. Saw a great sunset as we pulled into Seattle on our last evening of the cruise. Food was great, entertainment was fun and the crew were very helpful.
